The personal data collected as part of the Budget Balance service is processed by:

Data collected
As part of providing the service, the following data is collected:
- Account data: email address and password (stored hashed), account creation date.
- Budget data: income, expenses and savings (labels, amounts, categories, dates), stored for the service to operate.
- No banking data is collected or retained.
- No advertising cookies or analytics tools are used.
Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the service: account creation, saving and viewing your budget (contract performance — Article 6.1.b GDPR).
- Transactional emails for address verification and password resets (legitimate interest — Article 6.1.f GDPR).
- Security and fraud prevention (legitimate interest).
Data retention
Data is retained for as long as your account is active, and deleted when no longer needed, at your request or after a period of 12 months of inactivity. Some data (such as verification emails) is kept only for as long as needed for its purpose.
Recipients
Your data is never sold. It can only be accessed by:
- IONOS (hosting provider for the site and database)
- Brevo (transactional email delivery provider)
Data is hosted within the European Union. If transferred outside the European Union, such transfers would be governed by the safeguards provided for under the GDPR.
Security
Passwords are hashed, communications are encrypted (HTTPS) and server access is restricted to the people in charge of the service.
Your rights
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights over your data:
- Right of access to and copying of your data.
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”).
- Right to restriction of processing.
- Right to data portability.
- Right to object to processing on legitimate grounds.
You can exercise these rights at any time by writing to [contact email address]. We respond within one month. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).
