## What Budget Balance is

Budget Balance is a free personal budget tracking web application. It helps a user estimate and follow the amount left to spend during the month after accounting for income, recurring charges, everyday expenses and planned savings. The service is available as an installable Progressive Web App (PWA) on iOS and Android.

## Disposable income calculation

Budget Balance uses this budgeting formula:

monthly disposable income = monthly income - fixed expenses - variable expenses - planned savings

The daily estimate divides the monthly result by the number of days in the current month. A negative result means the entered expenses and planned savings exceed the entered income. Definitions used by banks, public bodies or other services may differ.
